Striae… makes you grey! |
|   |
More than fifty percent of women suffer from striae (stripes). These are caused by too quick an expansion of the skin, which provokes the skin's elastic fibres to rupture. Striae occur mostly in specific circumstances such as pregnancy, rapid gain of weight and a quick evolution of the body during adolescence.
Striae appear mostly on the breasts, the buttocks, the hips, the thighs and the abdomen.
They can be disfiguring to the point of being invalidating.
|   |
Lots of different treatments, aimed at reducing striae, have been tried in the past, but none of them has had any success.
There is only one technique that gives results: microdermabrasion.
This technique consists of the abrasion of the striae by high-pressure pulverization of fine aluminium hydroxide particles on the skin. The machine then immediately aspirates these particles.
This technique is practically painless and requires no anaesthesia.
The number of sessions (usually between 5 and 10) depends on the age of the striae.
Sessions take place at 2 to 4 weeks intervals.
No treatment before or afterwards is required.
There are no particular side effects.
When examining the striae, we can determine which indications give the biggest chance of success.
