Obagi's Blue Peel

Blue Peel is a liquid substance which, applied on the skin, will remove the upper layers of the skin which have been damaged by age and sunshine. These dead cells will then be replaced by young cells, which in its turn will result in a brighter, livelier skin. This method therefore slows down the ageing process.

The main advantage is that the depth to which the substance works can be easily monitored. This enables a better fine-tuning of the treatment and ensures that the skin is not damaged. The method is not toxic in any way.

Depending on the depth one wants to reach, one to four layers will be applied during one session. Depending on the case, one or more sessions (with intervals of four to six weeks) are necessary.

Cleaning the face, immediately after the Blue Peel has been applied, will remove most of the blue colour. The remainder will disappear after 12 to 24 hours. Two or three days later, the skin will start to peel off. It will be entirely healed after seven to ten days, after which make-up can again be applied.

This peeling, which can also be used on the neck, the chest, the hands, the back and the arms, is an accurate medical act, which should only be undertaken by a specially trained doctor.

In order to preserve the skin's health and vitality in the long term, an annual maintenance-treatment is recommended.
